Jin Mao Tower’s New Skywalk Prepares to Open in Shanghai


On July 28, a skywalk will open along the outside of the 88th floor of the Jin Mao Tower in Lujiazui. According to People's Daily, it will be the highest fenceless, all transparent walkway exterior to a high-rise building in the world, rising 340 meters above the groud

Of course, the skywalk offers stunning views of Shanghai's economic hub and beyond, but before setting foot on this high ledge, adrenaline junkies will be required to sign a waiver form confirming their ability to handle the height.

The open-air walkway spans a length of 60 meters, with only a 1.2-meter width between the building and edge. A total of 15 people – including two workers – are permitted on the walkway at one time to ensure everyone's safety.
